Liverpool has reportedly rejected an offer that could have seen Anthony Gordon make a sensational move to Anfield.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds have been in contact with Newcastle, with the Magpies willing to sell their star player as they look to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules.
Talks though are said to have broken down following an offer from the St James’ Park club.
The report claims that the proposed deal would have seen Jarell Quansah moving in the opposite direction.
Liverpool though decided that was not right for them.

Although the Reds are said to admire Gordon, they don’t want to lose Quansah, who is seen as a future England international after earning his first senior international call-up ahead of Euro 2024.
Had a deal been struck for Gordon, a medical in Leipzig had been mooted, with the 23-year-old currently away with England at Euro 2024.
Gordon is said to be happy at Newcastle, although he is aware of the talks between his current side and his boyhood club.
He started out at Liverpool’s academy as a child before making the move to Everton.
Not only that, but Gordon has dropped several hints at being a Liverpool fan, having named Steven Gerrard as his hero while also speaking glowingly about Mohamed Salah.
Gordon has always felt something of a long shot, but perhaps there is more to Liverpool’s reported interest.
The Reds have made the right call by turning down a deal that would see Quansah moving in the opposite direction.
