It has been a long fortnight for Liverpool without club football, with the Reds being left to stew over their disappointing premature Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain and League Cup final loss to Newcastle United.

Arne Slot's men might still be 12 points clear at the top of the table, but back-to-back losses followed be a lengthy absence has allowed anxiety to creep in.

Liverpool actually moved 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their last league outing, beating Southampton 3-1 at Anfield on March 8.

But since then, second-placed Arsenal have drawn at Manchester United and beaten Chelsea to narrow the gap at the top of the table.

With nine games still to go, the Reds are still in the driving seat to pip Arsenal to the league title and be crowned champions of England for the 20th time.

But Liverpool will be looking to respond when they return to action at home to Everton on Wednesday 2 April, to blow away any doubts as supporters start to nervously look over their shoulders at the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta's side are in action at home to Fulham on Tuesday night so have the opportunity to narrow the gap to nine points, albeit having played a game more.

But Arsenal play before Liverpool throughout April, gifting the Gunners the chance to put pressure on the Reds as the Premier League title run-in gets underway.

After hosting Everton, Liverpool take on Fulham (A), West Ham (H), Leicester City (A), Tottenham Hotspur (H), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Brighton & Hove Albion (A) and Crystal Palace (H) in their final matches of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Arsenal take on Fulham (H), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Ipswich Town (A), Crystal Palace (H), AFC Bournemouth (H), Liverpool (A), Newcastle United (H) and Southampton (A) in their final nine matches.

However, the clash with the Eagles will have to be rearranged after Palace booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

With 27 points still to play for, Arsenal's maximum haul they can reach stands at 85 points.

Consequently, Liverpool only need 16 points from their remaining nine games to win the league.

However, boasting a superior goal difference of +42 to +29, 15 points should be enough for the Reds to finish the season as champions.

And with Liverpool still to host Arsenal in their penultimate home game of the season, five wins will be enough if one of them comes against the Gunners.

The Reds could have clinched the title before they even host Arsenal though, with maximum points for both sides seeing the title-race decided after Liverpool's trip to Chelsea on May 4.
