Mohamed Salah has committed his future at Liverpool in a deal that could be bigger than any signing for the Reds.
The Egyptian international last week put pen to paper on a two-year extension with the Reds that will keep Salah at Anfield until 2027, with Virgil van Dijk expected to follow suit by signing a new deal with Liverpool this week.
With Salah breaking Premier League records on a weekly basis this season, Liverpool securing the 32-year-old’s future whilst in this sort of form is a huge result for Arne Slot’s side, who next season will be looking to reclaim the title.
And former Premier League manager Sam Allardyce has now shared what Slot has done at Liverpool that might have led to Salah signing a new deal.

Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, the former England manager shared how Liverpool’s surge to the Premier League title under Slot has played a key role in Salah opting to stay with the Reds beyond this season.
With Liverpool just six points off winning the title for the second time this decade, Slot’s appointment has been an inspired one for the Reds, and the Dutch manager has managed to get the best out of Salah in a way that no fan could have predicted.

Allardyce said: “I think you’ve got Arne Slot to thank for that.
He’s slipped in and made these players feel comfortable so that they want to stay, they wouldn’t be there now without him and what he’s delivered, which at the end of the day is going to be the Premier League at the end of the season.
“I think he’s earned his reputation and his credibility, and he’s done that with the players more than anything else, so that’s why they want to stay, like what’s happening with Salah.”
One of the key reasons why Liverpool have been as good as they have been this season has been Slot’s ability to get the best out of a number of players, with Ryan Gravenberch looking transformed in midfield whilst Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz are set to have their best years yet in the Premier League.
Yet it’s Salah’s form that has really stood out this season, with the winger on course to enjoy the best individual Premier League season of all-time whilst also firing Liverpool to only their second title since the English top-flight was rebranded.
Indeed, Slot deserves huge praise for getting the best out of Salah this season, and the winger’s performances has now led to the Egyptian committing his future to Liverpool in what is a hugely exciting move for fans.
