Conor Bradley suffered an injury during the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Bradley entered the match as a second-half substitute, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 66th minute.

However, his involvement was cut short when he limped off late on after experiencing discomfort during a sprint.

The injury appeared to be concerning, with Arne Slot expressing pessimism about Bradley’s availability for upcoming fixtures against Manchester City and Newcastle United in his immediate post-match interview.

This setback adds to Bradley’s injury woes, having already missed 11 games this season due to a hamstring strain sustained against Real Madrid in November.

What did Arne Slot say about Conor Bradley injury?

The Dutchman has confirmed that although Bradley was yet to come into the AXA Training Centre on Thursday morning, he fully expects the right back to be ruled out of both the Manchester City and Newcastle United clashes:

No [I haven’t seen him], he still has to come in,” said Slot.

“We don’t know yet, but I would be completely surprised if he’s involved in the Sunday game [vs Manchester City] or in the Wednesday game vs Newcastle United.”

“So, you can assume that won’t happen.”

He also confirmed the news that Joe Gomez had a surgery:

“Joe Gomez has had surgery, out for a long time?

He maybe back before the end of the season.

“Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t play 90 minutes [against Villa] because they have only just come back.”

The timing couldn’t be worse for Liverpool, who face a title-defining trip to Manchester City on Sunday before hosting Newcastle three days later.

Bradley’s absence leaves Alexander-Arnold as the sole senior right-back, despite the vice-captain only recently returning from a thigh injury himself.

Slot’s options are further limited by Joe Gomez’s long-term hamstring injury, which required surgery and will sideline the utility defender until late April.

With Bradley unavailable, Slot may turn to academy graduate James McConnell if necessary, who filled in at right-back during Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle.

However, Quansah is also a possible body to put in the right-hand side of defense and indeed replace the Northern Ireland international when he was forced off at Villa Park.
