Runners-up in-waiting Arsenal, meanwhile, are still stuck in the 50s.

The relentless Mo Salah, of course, is the main reason why Liverpool sit top of the tree for both points and goals as Arne Slot’s runaway leaders head to Leicester City looking to secure a second-ever Premier League title this weekend.

But it is not just the number of goals which ensures Liverpool are this season’s stand-out side, it is also the sheer variety of them which makes Slot’s side so difficult to stop in their tracks.

Their tally of nine penalties is also unmatched; A testament not only to Salah’s pinpoint accuracy from the spot but also the havoc they tend to wreak in the opposition box.

Yet, if there is one achievement Liverpool are yet to unlock this term, it is the elusive free-kick goal.

And if Mo Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and particularly Trent Alexander-Arnold can locate the proverbial postage stamps with apparent ease at the AXA, what is stopping them from doing the same on the Premier League stage.

This is not the first time, meanwhile, that Szoboszlai’s training ground brilliance has fans demanding more.

Though, as Kostas Tsimikas was spotted rattling no fewer than three inch-perfect free-kicks into the back of the net – including one which clipped the underside of the bar just to add to the aesthetics – the Reds faithful cannot help but wonder if the Greece international deserves a shot at ending Liverpool’s long wait for a set-piece pearler.

Let him have a go if Trent and Macca [Alexis Mac Allister] aren’t on the pitch!,” one fan demands in response to Tsimikas’ trio of top-corner-troubling stunners.

“The Greek scouser needs to take free kicks,” another supporter agrees.

Despite Andy Robertson’s obvious decline – Jamie Carragher is warning Liverpool the time has come to look for a long-term replacement – Tsimikas has still only started six Premier League games on Slot’s watch.

Whether he sticks around beyond the summer is also uncertain.
