It will mark his first official appearance as an honorary ambassador since stepping down as manager last season.

The event comes just two days before Liverpool’s final match of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield, which Klopp has also been invited to attend, according to The Athletic.

"Everyone knows how much I love the work of the LFC Foundation and I can’t wait to join them to celebrate that work and help to raise important funds for them to continue the incredible things they are doing," said Klopp.

Matt Parish, CEO of the LFC Foundation, added: "We are looking forward to this year's Gala Ball and we are delighted that Jürgen will be joining us to support the event.

"Jurgen was a fantastic advocate for our work during his time at the club and we appreciate his ongoing support and hope as many people as possible can join us on what is sure to be a memorable night and an opportunity to raise funds to allow us to continue to grow and support even more people in our communities as well as supporting Forever Reds."

The LFC Foundation is committed to addressing social inequalities, driven by the belief that a child’s future should not be defined by where they grow up.

Money raised through events like this one will support the Foundation’s mission to create lasting, positive change within communities.

A portion of the proceeds will also support Forever Reds - the club’s official association for former players.

Established to keep past players connected to the LFC family, Forever Reds provides ongoing support, involves ex-players in vital community work, and keeps them engaged with the latest developments at the club.

He only returned to the football scene in January, taking up his new executive role after a short break.

He’s expected to return to Merseyside as the 2024/25 season comes to a close - potentially just in time to see his former club lift what could be a record-equalling 20th league title.

Klopp had long championed the work of the LFC Foundation during his tenure and was made an honorary ambassador shortly after his departure last summer.

Liverpool currently need just 11 points from their remaining seven fixtures to secure the Premier League crown.

Despite their 3-2 loss to Fulham on Sunday, Arne Slot’s side still boast an 11-point cushion over second-placed Arsenal.

Fans will have the opportunity to celebrate what could be a historic title win during an open-top bus parade on May 26.

Klopp’s 2020 title-winning side missed out on that honour due to COVID restrictions at the time.

Slot is believed to be in regular contact with Klopp this season, with the Dutch manager reportedly extending a standing invitation for his predecessor to visit Anfield or drop in at the club’s training ground.

Liverpool host West Ham on Sunday in the Premier League before a trip to relegation battlers Leicester City.

The Premier League title could be secured by that trip to face the Foxes, but a clash with Spurs seems the more likely time to get the job done.
