A Facebook founder has been approached to join the Liverpool consortium bid. Alongside his father-in-law Mittal, Bhatia has sounded out several wealthy indivituals to join the group that hopes to secure a buy-in with the Reds.
Jeff Bezos of Amazon is among those already approached while Sky News claim Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has now been sounded out. Saverin was one of five people who helped create the social media network and has a net worth of £24.3bn according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
He has previously held an interest in football ownership after being part of a consortium which was unsuccessful in the Chelsea takeover battle in 2022. However, much like the approach to Bezos, it is unclear whether Saverin will agree to join the Bhttia bid to become Liverpool’s second-largest shareholder.
