Galatasaray have accused Liverpool of ‘imaginary statements’ over the abuse suffered by Ibrahima Konate. But Galatasaray’s secretary general Eray Yazgan claims that Arne Slot’s side attempted to divert from the incident involving the forward with their club statement.

He also alleged that Liverpool have not apologised to the club or Noa Lang, who severed his thumb after clashing with a pitchside advertising board in the game. “Liverpool has not offered a single apology to our club or our player,” Yazgan told A Spor.

“While Liverpool hasn’t even apologised, they are now trying to divert attention by bringing up imaginary statements they claim were made on social media against their player Ibrahima Konate. “While there is a serious situation threatening the player’s health, Liverpool is trying to change the subject.”
