A consortium involving Jeff Bezos has bought a share in Liverpool. The group headed up by Amit Bhatia under the name of 1892 Holdings will take a 30% stake in the Anfield club after a £1.65 billion transaction.
Saverin’s wife Elaine and Bryan Baum from Bezos’s K5 Global investment arm are also set to join the new-look Anfield hierarchy following the deal. “We are incredibly proud to be investing in Liverpool Football Club and to be doing so alongside FSG,” said Bhatia.
“We have the utmost respect and admiration for FSG as owners and for everything they have achieved at Anfield. “We are making this investment because we believe deeply in Liverpool and its leadership, and we look forward to supporting the club’s continued success for years to come.”
