Left-back has become an increasingly big problem for Liverpool this season, as both Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas struggle for form. With neither looking ready to take on the mantle of Liverpool’s next permanent left-back, Andoni Iraola and Julian Ward have to be looking elsewhere instead. Both Iraola and Ward may have been interested by the performance of Fenerbahce full-back Archie Brown on Wednesday, who scored the Turkish team’s equaliser before claiming an assist for the late winner.

Liverpool looking at Archie Brown signing It was not only in the attacking phase which Brown excelled against Liverpool, he also did well in his battle with Victor Munoz, who is not an easy customer for any full-back to contend with. His quality would reportedly not have been a surprise to Liverpool, however, with the Reds said to have been gathering information on the former Gent defender throughout the season so far.

Ward is reportedly making the signing of a new left-back a priority for 2027, and while Tsimikas looks set to depart on a free transfer at the expiry of his contract, it is claimed that Liverpool could also try and upgrade upon Kerkez with a new addition. Brown announced himself to a wider audience on Wednesday, and with the Englishman said to be keen on a return to his homeland after playing in Switzerland, Belgium and Turkey, he could be one to watch if Tsimikas, and in particular Kerkez, cannot push through their current slump.
