Inexplicably out of position for Kamada’s first half volley, he then played Eddie Nketiah onside late in the game for a chance. Dominik Szoboszlai: 5 – A mixed performance from Szoboszlai who was largely very good with his set-piece delivery – as seen by his assist for Mac Allister’s opener – but he was not great in open play, giving the ball away too often and contributing to Liverpool being easy to bypass in midfield.

Florian Wirtz: 6 – A positive day for Wirtz in that he got on the scoresheet with a well controlled effort and unselfishly set up Alexander Isak late on to claim an assist, but he was not as involved as he might have liked to be otherwise. After that he was fairly anonymous, and must now be looking over his shoulder at both Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz, who both looked more threatening.

There was still time for one more, though, and he didn’t pass up on another chance, bobbling past the goalkeeper after good work from Munoz and Wirtz. Substitutes Victor Munoz: 7 – Brilliant when he came on, providing so much threat down the right.
