Liverpool may have sold centre-back Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen last year, but a shock return to Anfield doesn’t appear to be out of the question. There is a clause in his Leverkusen contract that allows Liverpool to re-sign him for £59.5m, but that aspect of the deal runs out on June 15th next summer.
The report goes on to add that Quansah “is not part of the Reds’ plans at the moment, although they will continue to track him in the coming months”, also saying they are “weighing up their options defensively ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.” Should Liverpool re-sign Jarell Quansah in 2027? There was plenty of sense in Liverpool selling Quansah when they did, cashing in on a player who wasn’t definitely going to make the grade at Anfield in the long term, especially with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate ahead of him in the centre-back pecking order.
Bringing him back to Liverpool would, therefore, have its merits, and Arne Slot spoke glowingly about him during their time working together with the Reds: “I think he developed really well throughout the whole season and the next step is for him to not be involved in a moment like this in the last minutes, which had no impact on the result. He has every ingredient a centre-back for this club should have.
