Liverpool have made their opening move to sign Bradley Barcola. Barcola emerged as the Anfield club’s alternative target to succeed Mohamed Salah after they fell out of favour in the face for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.

Barcola is understood to be keen on a move to Andoni Iraola’s side despite interest from Premier League champions Arsenal earlier in the window. The Reds have sounded out the 23-year-old’s representatives over a potential move but are yet to formalise an approach to PSG for the highly-rated player.

However Les Parisiens’ valuation of Barcola which stands at around £145 million is set to complicate Liverpool’s hopes for a quick negotiation process. A figure closer to £100M is understood to be the preference of Anfield chiefs due to the situation around the France international’s long-term future.
