Liverpool saw a big bid rejected for top summer target Yan Diomande on Thursday, as their efforts to sign him hit a significant snag. But it is not only the gigantic transfer fee which is causing the Reds an issue in terms of buying Diomande, with problems between the Ivorian and his former agency potentially leading to more disruption.According to reporter Dr. Constantin Eckner, Liverpool would need to negotiate with Diomande’s previous representatives in a detail which is currently under investigation by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and could ‘complicate’ the transfer.

“Leipzig value the player significantly higher and possibly hope for a bidding war between various clubs.“What makes efforts by Liverpool and others complicated is the fact that they would need to negotiate with Diomande’s former agency Maxidel in order to reach an agreement with the player.“Diomande split from Maxidel to go to Roc Nation a couple of months ago. But he had signed an exclusive contract with Maxidel which is still binding for members of the English FA, for instance.“CAS currently investigates the dispute between the parties over the agency change.”It has been claimed that Liverpool’s issue so far has been with RB Leipzig and their potential asking price rather than Diomande himself, with personal terms not seen to be a problem.
