Liverpool FC NewsTransfer NewsCurtis JonesCurtis Jones continues to be linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, but with Inter Milan angering the Reds, a Premier League rival could be set to hijack a dealCurtis Jones could leave Liverpool this summer(Image: Getty Images)Nottingham Forest is the latest club to be linked with a move for Curtis Jones this summer as the Liverpool midfielder’s future remains in serious doubt.Jones has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield, having struggled to nail down a regular spot in the Reds’ starting XI. Inter Milan has been leading the chase for his signature, although the Italian champions look as though they may have ruined their chances.A second bid worth $29 million (€25M) was rejected earlier this week, with Liverpool said to have been left “irritated” by Inter’s approach, given the San Siro club remains well below the Reds’ valuation of $47 million (£35M).There have even been suggestions that Liverpool may have ended its discussions with Inter, feeling that the Serie A giants aren’t taking the deal seriously - a view which may have been backed up by the club’s failed attempts to sign Marco Palestra for $57M.With Inter having already blown one opportunity, Forest could now be ready to step in and hijack another of its deals, with the Daily Mail claiming Liverpool’s Premier League rival is considering Jones.Forest will of course be looking for a new midfielder, with Elliot Anderson joining Manchester City for $153M (£116M).
As well as Jones, last season’s Europa League semi-finalists are also said to be looking at Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall, who has told Spurs he wants an exit this summer.Nottingham Forest will be looking for a replacement for Elliot AndersonIt is suggested that Jones could have reservations about making a perceived step down to join Forest, with Vitor Pereira’s side without any European football next season, whereas Inter will of course be in the Champions League along with Liverpool. The Reds will not back down on its asking price, with The Athletic having indicated that Liverpool would rather let Jones go for free next summer than sell him in a cut-price deal during the current window. The prospect of Jones signing a new contract at Anfield has also not been ruled out. Talks over a new deal for the 25-year-old have stalled, with no active discussions at the moment.Get Liverpool's new 2026/27 home kitThis article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it.
