Liverpool are “definitely” going to look to sign more than one centre-back in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. Jeremy Jacquet is already coming in from Rennes in the summer, but speaking to Football Insider, O’Rourke said he expects more than one central defender to potentially arrive: “We know Liverpool are probably going to have a big overhaul in the centre of their defence come the summer.
Ibrahima Konate’s future is still up in the air, we don’t know if he’s going to sign a new deal or leave the club on a free transfer. There are definitely going to be ins and outs in that central area for Liverpool.
“But if Konate does leave and possibly Gomez too, they’re going to have to bring in reinforcements, and they’re looking at a number of replacements. It’s going to be a big summer transfer window for Liverpool, especially in that central area of their defence.” An extra centre-back is a must for Liverpool this summer Watching Liverpool is a painful experience this season, with so many issues all over the pitch, not least the quality of their defending at key moments.
