“It’s been clear for quite a while now that Federico Chiesa doesn’t have much of a future at Liverpool. He hasn’t been a regular starter there under any of the managers he’s played under, and I don’t think that’s going to change now because Andoni Iraola doesn’t rate him either.
“He’s obviously had this injury at the start of the season which hasn’t helped, but if the manager can’t see him in training, how is he supposed to get a good impression? It’s clearly a position they have been looking to strenghten, and they could look again in January, which to me suggests they don’t have high hopes for Chiesa’s role.
“If somebody comes in with an offer for him in the transfer window, then I expect they will be open to those discussions and he could be allowed to move on.” Should Liverpool sell Federico Chiesa in January? He’s a great character and we all love him, I think everyone can see that, and he’s loved by the fans, and to produce moments like he has [against Bournemouth] is something we all want to see.” If a bid arrives for Chiesa in the January transfer window, Liverpool would be wise to accept it, getting him off their wage bill and allowing a younger winger to come in instead.
