Does Liverpool Have a More Exciting Youth Contingent Than Arsenal?

What Challenges Is Jurgen Klopp Faced With That Require His Immediate Attention?

Liverpool are currently 10th in the EPL table with 29 points from 20 matches. Jurgen Klopp is facing a challenge he has yet to meet as Liverpool manager. The Reds have struggled throughout the season, and Klopp doesn’t seem to have an answer for the current crisis. In fact, sports fans who bet on EPL matches might no longer trust Liverpool to win games. So, what challenges must the manager fix to salvage the situation?

Find a Solution for Injury Woes

Liverpool’s decline can be partly attributed to injuries to key players. Klopp has had to navigate tough fixtures without key players such as Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota. On the other hand, club captain Virgil van Dijk has also been struggling with minor injuries and form.

The players called to fill the injured players’ boots have not lived up to expectations. For instance, in the defensive department, Gomez and Konate cannot fill the left center-back spot convincingly. The first thing Klopp has to fix immediately is to fix the defensive issues.

Sort Out The Midfield

It is evident that Liverpool’s midfield is struggling this season. Could age be catching up with Klopp’s midfield trio? Fabinho is 29, Thaigo 31 and Henderson 33. Therefore, it is understandable if they no longer have the legs to play Klopp’s high-intensity football.

In this regard, Klopp will have to make do with what he has at his disposal before the summer. While Harvey Elliot and Stefan Bajcetic are promising prospects for the future, Klopp will have to raid the transfer market for immediate solutions.

Find a Solution for Fabinho

It is unfair to point fingers at an individual player for a team’s problems, but Fabinho has Liverpool fans a cause for concern. He was once viewed as one of the best midfielders in the world alongside Casemiro. However, Fabinho has suffered a massive dip in form and has not contributed to the team as the coach and teammates would expect.

Klopp will have to figure out how to fix this issue. For instance, he can consider changing the Brazilian midfielder’s role or even benching him.

Rethink His Squad Selection

Every manager has a group of trusted players, including Klopp. The German tactician is right to trust Liverpool’s spine, as it has enabled him to win the EPL and Champions League titles.

However, Klopp’s “favorites” are well out of form. Therefore, the manager must put his head before his heart and be ruthless in his team selection. This might upset his the closest to him, but it might be the solution to reviving Liverpool’s season.

Work on Different Formations

EPL teams seem to have worked out how to beat Klopp’s tactical formation on the pitch. Klopp’s teams are known for their gegenpressing and high-intensity football that made them favorites among EPL betting fans on Betway. However, teams have found a way of countering Klopp’s system, and the manager has not figured out a plan B.

He tried 4-4-2, and it worked, but he needs to come up with something more drastic. For example, he can consider using a three-man defense to allow Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold to contribute more to the team’s attack.
