Updated / Saturday, 3 Oct 2026 15:40 Getty Julia Zigiotti Olme celebrates her early goal Julia Zigiotti Olme's sixth-minute lob proved enough to earn Manchester United boss Eva Olid a second Women's Super League victory of the season after a 1-0 home win over Liverpool. Zigiotti Olme capitalised on a mistake by Liverpool goalkeeper Khiara Keating and, despite some late pressure by Gareth Taylor's side, United held on to make it back-to-back league wins.
After a shaky start under new head coach Olid, the Spaniard has now masterminded four consecutive victories in all competitions with United unbeaten in five matches. This was United's 250th match since the team reformed in 2018 and Olid watched her side mark the occasion with the breakthrough after six minutes.
It was a moment to forget for England goalkeeper Keating after her pass out from the back was intercepted by Zigiotti Olme, who composed herself and chipped home in superb fashion. Liverpool pushed for a leveller, but United stood strong to move onto seven points in the WSL.
