Andy Robertson has thanked the Liverpool supporters for standing by him from the very first day after announcing his exit from the club. The Scot will depart at the end of the campaign after nine fantastic years as a Red, with trophies and memories to last a lifetime. It all began on an August day in 2017, when Robertson made his first ever appearance for Liverpool, and as he turned in a performance which was a sign of things to come, he has recalled how the Kop sung his name in a scarcely believable moment. Nevertheless, his debut was an excellent one, and as he recalled for Liverpoolfc.com on Thursday evening, he felt the love from the crowd almost immediately.“The fans have always taken to me,” he said.
