See you again soon, Anfield.”Hugo Ekitike’s rise to such importance for Liverpool this season was somewhat aided by Alexander Isak suffering a serious injury himself back in December.Liverpool’s most expensive signing in history failed to hit the ground running on Merseyside following a heavily disrupted pre-season.Once he began to find his feet, disaster struck as the striker broke his leg in Liverpool’s win against Tottenham Hotspur.Alexander Isak was out injured for 106 days, resulting in him missing 22 games for Liverpool in 2025/26 as the dream start to life at Anfield that he envisioned failed to materialise. He returned to action for Liverpool in April and will be looking to push on next season. He has belief that he is getting back to showing the form that he did at Newcastle United which saw him become one of the best strikers in the world. In a recent interview with Liverpoolfc.com he said:“I mean it’s never easy being out for a long time. But I feel like I’m getting there and hopefully we can get the results as well.”The Swede then went on to offer his full support to Hugo Ekitike and revealed how the squad is ‘gutted’ about the injury the Frenchman has suffered.“Obviously we’re all gutted for that injury.

It’s very unfortunate for him and for the team as well. We’re all behind him, supporting him.”A player who knows all to well about the mental resilience and commitment that it takes to come back from a long-term injury.Everyone connected with the club will be hoping that Hugo Ekitike emerges from his rehabiliation process stronger than ever. alexander isak Hugo Ekitike
