With current Liverpool assistant Giovanni van Bronckhorst emerging as a leading candidate for a senior role back in Rotterdam, attention is turning to who might join Slot on the touchline next season.Feyenoord are reportedly considering Van Bronckhorst for a top job, with suggestions he could move into a technical director-style position. The Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele described Van Bronckhorst as the “leading candidate” and suggested he “would go” if offered the role.“I think Feyenoord want to hire him as their technical director. There’s a few changes happening at Feyenoord at the moment, and I think Van Bronckhorst is well in the running for technical director,” Steele said.“Van Persie’s the manager, Dick Advocaat’s there, and Dennis te Kloese, the man who negotiated Slot’s move to Liverpool, is leaving and Van Bronckhorst is the leading candidate.”And it seems that Liverpool could do some staff shopping of their own in Feyenoord over the summer.According to Dutch reporter Valentijn Driessen (via 1908.NL), Slot is keen to bring Etienne Reijnen – currently Robin van Persie’s assistant at Feyenoord – over to Merseyside once the coach completes his UEFA Pro Licence.

Slot had already tried to take him to Liverpool soon after his own appointment, but that move was reportedly blocked due to work permit issuesWith Reijnen now further along in his coaching qualifications, those obstacles may be easier to overcome – and Slot appears eager to revisit the idea.If Van Bronckhorst does head back to Rotterdam and Reijnen finally gets the green light for England, there could be a swap of sorts between two clubs that could be the start of very good relations.
