Liverpool be without Mohamed Salah at Manchester United on Sunday and Arne Slot must choose between a number of different options to replace the EgyptianThere was good news and bad news from Liverpool about Mohamed Salah on Wednesday evening. The positive, of course, is the hamstring issue that forced him off against Crystal Palace last weekend isn't serious enough to prevent him featuring again this season before he departs on a free transfer. However, that a minor muscle issue has been confirmed means he faces at least a short spell on the sidelines that will include Sunday's latest visit to bitter North West rivals Manchester United.Salah has scored 16 goals against United, his most against a single opponent for Liverpool with no player on either side having scored more in the history of the celebrated fixture.A whopping 10 have come at Old Trafford alone, making him the visiting player with the most goals at the stadium during the Premier League era.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!

The Dutchman has finished the last two games in the position having come on from the bench, and was bought last summer partly as a replacement for Salah when the Egyptian was off on Africa Cup of Nations Duty in late December and January.Injuries meant it didn't quite work out that way.

But Frimpong has shown he has the capability to create openings from the right and has the pace the Reds will require to get up the pitch at Old Trafford. One issue, though, is Frimpong has started in the role only twice since early January, and may in any case be required at right-back.The wing shiftWith Hugo Ekitike already out for the long term, Liverpool have significantly limited options in attack. However, Alexander Isak aside, those that remain are reasonably versatile. It opens up the possibility of either Cody Gakpo or Rio Ngumoha moving to the right flank, with the other occupying a more accustomed role on the left.Gakpo, though, hasn't started a game on the right in more than two years, while it would be a big ask to hand 17-year-old Ngumoha only a third-ever Premier League start at Old Trafford regardless of position.Midfield reconfigurationUnited have certainly improved their attacking output since the turn of the year, although their game is more reliant on short bursts of intense pace and pressure rather than a consistent high level of performance. That could prompt Arne Slot to meddle with his midfield a little with what appears a more conservative approach of moving Dominik Szoboszlai i to a more withdrawn role on the right, or potentially employing a 4-2-2-2 formation with Szoboszlai on the right of the narrow midfield with Isak and Gakpo up top.Such a move would also provide more natural cover for Curtis Jones should Slot continue to play the 25-year-old at right-back.Chiesa surpriseThe less likely selection is the one to which Slot more occasionally turned during the first half of the season from the bench in Federico Chiesa, who was brought in almost two years ago to provide backup for Salah. The Italian has featured from the start only once in the Premier League this season with his only other appearance in the XI on the right flank this calendar year coming in the FA Cup win over Barnsley in January.
