The first was a desire for both the player to leave, as he enters the final two years of his contract, and a willingness from PSG to secure an exit to maximize value.Now, with the Frenchman seemingly open to joining Liverpool, the race is on to get a deal over the line before rivals can jostle into position for his signature.Arsenal has been linked, and considering the recent collapse of a transfer for Vinicius Jr, it's entirely possible that the club pushes ahead with a move for Barcola.However, it's Chelsea that has been urged to push on and sign the forward in what would be the team's second high-profile signing in the forward ranks after the capture of Morgan Rogers.Former player and assistant coach Jody Morris claimed Barcola should be on the radar for the Blues, even though it is unlikely, when he spoke to Sky Sports, stating: "I would have loved to have been in a position where we can go after Barcola."But I said this previously, I was really surprised that we managed to get Morgan Rogers through the door when he’s playing for a team that’s already in the Champions League and reportedly had the champions of England [Arsenal] after him as well."I was really surprised that we managed to get him through the door, so I think it would be wishful thinking if we were then able to get another player of that ilk who has just won the Champions League twice."Bradley Barcola is attracting interest from Liverpool(Image: Getty Images)Considering the finances involved, and where Chelsea is coming into the season, it would certainly be a surprise if the club could somehow enter the race and gazump the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.The Reds may have a task in convincing Barcola, too, however, considering the struggles of last season and the options available in the team coming into this campaign.It was an issue Liverpool faced in convincing Yan Diomande, who seemingly saw the club as being in transition and unable to compete for the top honors straight away.That doesn't appear to be an issue in the Barcola case so far, as the player appears to be open to the switch, but that could all depend on what happens with other clubs joining the mix.For now, Liverpool is continuing to make progress in an effort to get a monumental deal done for the new season.
