Curtis Jones has been expected to leave Liverpool this summer, with Inter Milan indicating a willingness to get closer to their £35m asking price in recent days.However, the reporting from Italy has always indicated that Inter would need to make several steps before approaching Liverpool with an acceptable bid, with the sale of Davide Frattesi supposedly being a key factor.On Thursday, it was reported that Frattesi was set to join Lazio, after a fee had been agreed between the two clubs. One day later, though, and the move is now in danger of collapsing, with Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio confirming that Serie A have blocked the transfer for now.

But as long as Serie A do not sanction the deal, it feels as though a standoff will continue.While that is bad news for Jones’ chances of joining Inter, it could also be problematic for Liverpool.If the academy graduate leaves he may need replacing, but the Reds are unlikely to make a move of their own unless they know for sure that Jones is going.
