NewsLiverpool NewsLiverpool FCSupporters told to avoid certain areas of French capital amid warnings about crime and violenceLiverpool fans heading to Paris for the Reds' Champions League quarter final clash on Wednesday have been issued urgent travel advice, including areas of the French capital to avoid for their own safety.Liverpool will take on Paris St-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the quarter final, hoping to spark a difficult season into life. But fans travelling to the city are being warned about dangerous areas not to travel through or around.The match will kick off at 9pm local time, which is 8pm GMT and turnstiles at the stadium will open three hours before kick-off.
There will be a strong police presence around the stadium.In terms of getting to and from the Parc Des Princes, LFC has provided guidance to travelling fans. While there is no designated fan meeting place, the Seguin Sound venue, located at Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt has been recommended for both the day before and the day of the match, as it has been used by other visiting British teams previously.Reds' fans have been told to avoid the following areas of Paris: Gare du Nord neighbourhood, Pigalle neighbourhood and the city centre Chatelet area.Supporters are advised to take Metro line 9 to Porte de Saint-Cloud station.
Advice from the club states: "DO NOT travel on Metro line 10 this is for the PSG Ultras."Upon exiting the station, the stadium is visible, and it is a five-minute walk along Route de la Reina.
