The Reds have had a quiet summer transfer window so far but have been linked with a host of potential new signings.The transfer window has opened this week and now Liverpool are seemingly closing in on bringing their first new arrival to Anfield.The ECHO understands that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Munoz after expressing a desire to pay the forward’s release clause.It has been suggested that Munoz, a 22-year-old Spain international, has a €40million (£34.6mllion) release clause in his contract at Osasuna.Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement on a deal, with Munoz now expected to complete a switch to Merseyside this summer.There have been suggestions that Newcastle were closing in on signing Munoz before Liverpool swooped in, with the Reds seemingly now the favourites to complete a deal for the versatile forward.Munoz is currently with the Spain squad for this summer’s World Cup in North America, and was an unused substitute in their goalless draw with Cape Verde in their opening group match of the competition on Monday.The 22-year-old is primarily a left winger but is also capable of performing on the right wing when required, as has been the case during his time at Osasuna.Munoz has two caps to his name for Spain and will hope to increase that number during the tournament, with their next match taking place on Sunday in Atlanta against Saudi Arabia before facing Uruguay later this month.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FC FACEBOOK PAGE!
