Liverpool have made their opening move to sign Bradley Barcola. Barcola emerged as the Anfield club’s alternative target to succeed Mohamed Salah after they fell out of favour in the face for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has rebuffed efforts to extend his stay with the reigning European champions with two years remaining on his current deal. Barcola is understood to be keen on a move to Andoni Iraola’s side despite interest from Premier League champions Arsenal earlier in the window.

The Reds have sounded out the 23-year-old’s representatives over a potential move but are yet to formalise an approach to PSG for the highly-rated player.
