Liverpool and Federico Chiesa have reportedly agreed to part ways this summer, but the Reds will not accept a pittance for his departure. The Italian has not been able to force his way into Arne Slot’s starting XI at any point during his two seasons at Anfield, and it now feels like a natural end to his time at the club is coming.Having been signed for a bargain £12.5m in the summer of 2024, Liverpool would not have to do much to make their money back on Chiesa. And according to the Italian press, they will aim to do that and then some amid plenty of interest from Serie A.
Should Arne Slot drop Mohamed Salah from the squad to face Brentford? 👀 A sour end could be in store… Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images Liverpool want €20-25m for ChiesaIt is a shame that things have not worked out for Chiesa at Liverpool. He is a popular figure who has given it everything whenever called upon.Had a different coach arrived this summer, there is an argument that he could have been given a new lease of life and made a go of it at Anfield. But with Slot set to stay, that isn’t going to happen, and according to Calciomercato, both Chiesa and Liverpool themselves have agreed that a summer exit is the best outcome. The 28-year-old still has two years left on his contract, though, and there is no reason that the Reds should sell themselves short when it comes to his exit.Photo by Christian Kaspar-Bartke/Getty ImagesREAD MORE: Arne Slot is about to be sacked by Liverpool says Richard Keys, and he’s ‘more convinced than ever’Chiesa will not be short of suitors, and with Napoli, Atalanta, AC Milan, Bologna and Juventus all named, it is easy to see the Italy international playing for any one of those teams.Roma appear to be the most interested in Chiesa, but it is claimed that they will have to pay between 20 and 25 million Euros to match Liverpool’s asking price. There is a suggestion that the Reds may be willing to accept slightly lower, but that is said to be the current benchmark.Liverpool have plenty of work to do this summer in attacking areas, and with Slot previously claiming that the Reds may have to ‘sell to buy,’ getting a good price for Chiesa could help with that.
