The Trent Alexander-Arnold rumours are back, with reports claiming that the 28-year-old is a target for the Reds amid his uncertain future at Real Madrid. Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold will always have history, but it’s also complicated.
Graeme Bailey writes: “Trent Alexander-Arnold is considering his future at Real Madrid after growing frustrated with his lack of playing time, with Liverpool among a host of clubs monitoring his situation as the England star’s position at the Spanish giants becomes increasingly uncertain. “Alexander-Arnold is happy in Madrid but is growing frustrated by his limited minutes on the pitch, and the situation took another twist on Sunday when Real Madrid faced Sevilla.
“His salary could prove a significant complication for any potential move, given the financial terms agreed when he joined Real Madrid in 2025.” Liverpool should avoid going back for Trent Not only is he already 28, which typically precludes players from Liverpool’s transfer plans, but he’s also just such a risk defensively, and after getting a taste of what a solid defensive right-back looks like with Ronald Araujo shining, I think it’s best for the Reds to keep their distance. That’s the kind of money Liverpool should be offering Michael Olise, not Alexander-Arnold.
