VISIT THE MATCH HUB MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES Where could Phil Foden end up on Man City’s all-time appearance list?Foden still has a year to run on his deal and will not be going anywhere this summer, so looks set to surpass 400 appearances for the club before the end of next season, as he is currently on 359.He has played an average of 48 games per season for the club since 2020-21, and provided he signs at least a four-year extension from next summer, he is on course to play over 600 times for City by the end of 2030-31.Joe Corrigan is sitting second in City’s all-time appearance list, with 603, so Foden could well end up overtaking him to be behind record appearance-holder Alan Oakes (680) if he signs a new deal soon.Could Foden challenge Kevin de Bruyne’s assist record at City?Foden is one of just 20 players to have scored 100 goals for Man City in their career, and he currently nets at a rate of around one in every 3.26 games.Should he carry on that rate of scoring up to 600 appearances, Foden should net around 184 goals in a City shirt, with anything above 177 leaving him second to Sergio Aguero (260) in their all-time scoring chart.Football Insider have revealed that Foden is stalling over agreeing a new City deal right now amid concerns around game time, but breaking De Bruyne’s assist record will surely be on his radar for the years to come.He has set up the most goals of anyone ever at the club, with 176, but Foden already sits sixth in the standings with 64 in his 359 appearances so far.The 25-year-old would have to assist 113 goals to beat the record, which is an average of around 19 for six straight seasons, so it does seem unlikely that he reaches that total before the end of any potential new contract.
