(Credit: Imago) Liam Rosenior not at immediate threat of Chelsea sack after loss vs Everton Sun 22 March 2026 9:45, UK Chelsea are hoping to stick with Liam Rosenior as their manager at least until the end of the season, sources have told Football Insider.Rosenior’s side lost 3-0 to Everton last time out, adding to the questions being asked of his position, and the Blues have now lost each of their last four games.Despite his short time in charge, fans and the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge are believed to already have concerns about his long-term future in the role.As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Chelsea are targeting FA Cup success and Champions League qualification.Sources say the latter is seen as the most important, and should Rosenior fail to lead his side there, Chelsea could be looking for a new manager sooner than many expected. 👔 Chelsea Manager News👔 Get the inside track on the Stamford Bridge dugout with updates on shortlisted candidates and BlueCo technical strategy. (via Sofascore)An 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG and a 1-0 loss against Newcastle in the last week had raised early questions about the manager’s role, and the pressure is now high.Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It doesn’t matter with Chelsea really if you’re there for long or not. They’ve got such high expectations.“Pressure is always going to be on the Chelsea manager, that’s the nature of the beast, but they’ve got no plans to sack him just yet.“Chelsea want to give him as much time and opportunity to turn things around there.“They’ve still got the FA Cup to go for.
They’ve got a nice draw and they’ll be hoping that they can go on into that competition and potentially win it.“The main focus is to make sure they finish in the top five to secure Champions League football as well, that’s the most important thing for Chelsea.“So if they do that I think Rosenior, his job will be safe for now. There aren’t any plans to make any knee-jerk reactions just after a couple of bad results.”Who could be the next Premier League manager sacked?Rosenior is not the only Premier League manager under pressure as we head into the closing stages of the season, with multiple bosses facing the sack.Football Insider reported on 19 March that Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner is the favourite to be sacked, followed by Burnley’s Scott Parker and Liverpool’s Arne Slot.Credit: ImagoRosenior follows that list of under-fire bosses and could shoot above them if Chelsea’ form continues the way it has been over the last four games. While they remain keen to stick with the manager and back him for long-term success, doubts creeping in at this early stage will not be seen as a good sign.He will face Port Vale, Man City, Man United and Brighton in his next four games and must show serious signs of improvement to ease the pressure. 🦁 Don’t Miss a Beat: Your Chelsea Insider Access Get the full story from Stamford Bridge and Cobham with our dedicated expert hubs: Updated 24/7 with expert analysis from West London.
